2021 Charleston Marathon® | Virtual Edition

The Charleston Marathon® benefits Engaging Creative Minds (ECM), with 20% of the net proceeds going to local school grants. The marathon has contributed over $600,000 to Arts Integrated education initiatives in Lowcountry schools!

It’s been determined that hosting large-scale events, particularly our size, will not be permitted due to COVID-19 restrictions this January 2021. We recognize you might be dog-tired of virtual life by now, which is why the Charleston Marathon® is stepping up their game and dedicated now more than ever to provide you with the Charleston race experience you know and love (minus the long lines and porta potties).

Introducing the 2021 Charleston Marathon® | Virtual Edition:

‣ Run at Your Convenience – You’ll have 11 days to run the 11th annual race. Run anytime from January 11 – 21 – no early wake up call (lucky dog)!

‣ Swag Sweeter than the Tea – Finish your virtual race in style with the downloadable bib and commemorate your achievement with an upgraded, exclusive finisher hoodie, blinged out bottle-opener finisher medal and downloadable finisher certificate.

‣ Delivered Direct to Your Porch – Post your selfies and results online, and avoid all parking and shuttles this year. Sit back and relax as your swag ships direct to you, post run. You can expect to see your swag by the end of January.

‣ Local Dog Discount – Whether you live in the Lowcountry or still plan to visit, enjoy one complimentary ticket to a Charleston Riverdogs 2021 season game.

‣ Support the Community – Your registration will go directly to supporting Engaging Creative Minds (ECM)!

ECM Instructors | Application Process

Are you interested in joining our roster of highly motivated and passionate ECM Instructors? Applications are accepted from STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) professionals living in the Lowcountry of South Carolina on an ongoing basis throughout the year. As needed, members of our selection committee will gather to interview new applicants. As part of the interview, applicants will be asked to explain and/or demonstrate how they would integrate their art form or program into the curriculum and keep students engaged. Applicants will be notified of acceptance status within two weeks following the interview.
