Monica Brisbon believes that students deserve an equitable education that includes rigorous and diverse learning experiences. Her teaching style provides real- world experiences so that students are able to connect and apply their learning experience and be college and career ready beyond the classroom. 2017 National Fellow for the Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE)
After receiving her YEScarolina CET (Certified Entrepreneurship Teacher) certificate in 2016, she implemented the curriculum in her Entrepreneurship class at Carolina Forest High School sparking the interest of students with young innovative mindsets to own a business. The program is continuously growing with each year of implementation. Students have placed in the Top 10 for consecutive years and one student won 3rd in the state business plan competition. Monica has been teaching Career and Technical education at Carolina Forest High school for the past 15 years and served in several capacities. She was named 2019 YESCarolina Teacher of the Year, 2020 CFHS Teacher of the Year Nominee, 2021 SC Economics Teacher of the Year. Monica will continue serving students as an Assistant Principal at Myrtle Beach High School.
